As Irtar said, as long as they can make money from it, they'll keep doing them. Some are better than others, and with SOE doing H1Z1, I'm sure it's better than the rest.
A lot of people like the idea of an apocalyptic world (Throw in zombies because "ermagherd der zermberz erz ser herdkerr") as a fun scenario to play with. Everyone's got their own ideas of what a post apocalyptic world would be like, even if they're similar.

atm H1Z1 is pay to win and i dont like that. But 7 days to die is really good, prob the best around atm. But yes these games will keep coming cuz people keep buying it.

eh its not pay to win anymore, they nerfed drops ALOT, you practically just get what you can pick up around you and most times ppl who didn't even buy the drop steal the loot atm the game has a duping issue which is the major problem with the game right now

Every competitive game genre will have a Pay to Win game.
If you're referring to H1Z1 as Pay to Win, then you'd be wrong. They are changing things to make it less Pay to Win and more evenly balanced. The game is still in Alpha, which most seem to forget, so there will be hiccups here and there. No, it's not SOE's first game so you might be thinking "Well golly, they should know better!" but everyone makes mistakes. They had an idea, and it was a decent idea (The idea being, summon a plane drop and then everyone on the map will rush to it and have a fun PvP gladiatorial fight with everyone), but it was executed poorly. They're trying to fix that last I read.
When they start offering Bulletproof armor and machine guns with lots of ammo on their market, then you can start crying Pay to Win.
