    Default TESO going F2P

    http://kotaku.com/the-elder-scrolls-...ons-1680869560

They're going to mark the release of TESO on XBOne and PS4 with a new Tamriel Unlimited, without the subs.

B2P. You'll need to buy the game to play it. They're just eliminating the subscription fee.

Well, the buying, subscription AND microtransactions could be seen as a bit of overkill and gouging. I'm glad they're at least removing one of them.

Well you still have the option to subscribe to receive, in my opinion, meager benefits.

I think everyone knew this was coming eventually. I subscribed up to VR3 then stopped. Might start playing again now, especially if they ever release Dark Brotherhood.

I feel ya. Still, I doubt ESO will be like that, considering it's not F2P. I know GW2 doesn't have that issue.

Anyway, is there a chance we will see ESO division coming back, now that more people would play it?

Not likely. Population wasn't what we had a problem with. It was the fact that we had to have members join 5 guilds to avoid breaking the "No Multi-clanning" policy. It's a very hard sale, especially when guilds are the auction houses.

Ah, I see. Back to GW2 for now, then. :)

I just picked up ESO and I think that it is a great game. Just need some peeps to play with. With the auction house thing do you think we can have 5 squads that each have their own guild to avoid the whole multi clan jawn. I am very new to the game and don't know too much about the guilds yet. On a positive note there sure are a lot of people playing.

Well, no, because players could still be able to join other, non-AOD guilds, if they joined just one of official AOD guilds, because one player can be a member of up to 5 different in-game guilds.

Just remember that this is not an Elder Scrolls game. Only thing in common are the name and the lore.

Pretty much this. It does have some Elder Scrolls style gameplay that's cool, but overall it does feel like a general MMO trying to be different from WoW.

It's not bad, but it's not great either.
