    Money Looking for Upgrade Suggestions

Currently, this is the build I have been using.

I have about $800 to spend, and want to upgrade my video card, get a better CPU, and get more RAM.

I am going to get the RAM you see on the link, so $75 is gone right there. However, I don't know which CPU or Video Card to get. I would prefer that the card by an R9, and the CPU 8 core, if possible. Don't worry about required voltage, I can deal with that myself.

I think you answered your own questions. If you know how to overclock then a fx8320 or fx8350 will be perfect. Besides the R9 and DDR3 upgrade I would definetly suggest a Samsung evo SSD drive for your boot drive. 128 or 256gb should do fine as long as you keep the other drive in for backup and fluffware.

    Cpu 150
    Ssd150
    Ddr3 75

A good gpu, that wouldnt be overkill for your system, would be about 200-300 range.

That leaves you about 150 to save in the bank.

    Goodluck.

Ok so, first of all the best bang for your buck GPU right now

Is going on ebay and finding an r9 290, preferably non-reference but reference cards can be found for sub 200$.

CPU? Grab an 8350. Easy as cake. If you want more cooling grab an h80 for 60$ used (I can hook you up with an h80i for 60$, pm me)

    Ram is fine.

Dude getting a 8350 and r9 290 really launches your system several tiers above your current level.

(Oh and before you ask, yes a 600w corsair is plenty for an r9 290.)

Agreed, go with the R9 290x.

The FX8350 and 8370 may max out at around 1.45V due to the VRM's on that board, which may limit your max overclock. (should be able to get about 4.7GHz)

If you get the R9 290X, then make sure you overclock it, it has good headroom and will be a waste not to overclock it. (one of the few boards capable of reaching the max overclock on the 8 core FX chips, is the Asus sabertooth 990FX R2.0

Ok, I think I have my final components.

I currently have a 430 W power supply due to previous price limitations, so I have to get a better one to support the extra wattage.
    Power Supply

This is the video card I am looking at.
    Sapphire Tri-X

    CPU

    SSD Boot Drive

And about $15 for chassis fans.

If anyone has something that is the same price or cheaper and better, please say.

Extra 100W of headroom for the same price

    Sapphire Tri-X

If you can't afford the X, this will get you 980Mhz clock out of the box

    CPU

    SSD Boot Drive

This 840 will save you a few bucks to spend elsewhere and the difference between it and the 850 is negligible

And about $15 for chassis fans.

If anyone has something that is the same price or cheaper and better, please say.

I'm definitely going to get the PSU and SSD you suggested, but the Tri-X is better than the XFX, in actuality.

The Tri-X narrowly beats the XFX DD stock but the XFX BE tends to have better benchmarks than the Tri-X in addition XFX has a lifetime warranty vs the 2 year on the Sapphire card.

I was just offering suggestions based on the overall value.

    +1 on a better cooler.

I just looked up the AMD FX8320e and it is unlocked just like all the other FX processors and was able to be overclocked to 4.6GHz. This sells for $135 so that can save you $65, which I would also suggest putting towards a better cooler. The R9 is a good choice.

Just make sure that when you're looking for a CPU it matches your motherboard socket. I've seen a lot of people looking at the cheaper AMD chips when they have an Intel mobo, and find that they don't fit together once they get it.

Tek syndicate literally just released a build for this price point. I can't complain with any of his suggestions

After post edit. Realised I slightly misunderstood. Can't really fix on tablet.

The OP had his current build with his AM3?AM3+ Mobo.

By a cooler I meant the CPU heatsink or even better watercooling. The stock heatsink/fans are terrible most anything would be better. If you could get the H80i or H100i for a good price they perform fantastically and probably the simplest water cooling to install.
