0530h. Breakfast.
The journey continues...
0630h. Awaiting 0700h rendezvous with customer for escort to site (more to come on that later...)
Quick power nap time...
0800h. Driven out along snow and ice covered dirt road, with a lead and tail security escort to site. No cell service out here, and it's bloody cold. Starting actual work now...
1030h. Finished job, and now begins the trip home...
1130h. Filled up gas, ate lunch, starting the final leg.
8 hour shift would be finished now... at least I'll be home soon :-P
1500h. Finally home. 12 hour day spent navigating barren Canadian winter roads, punctuated with a period of work where my scrotum nearly froze to my thigh :| And yes, I know my work truck has a filthy dashboard...
Home just in time for some R&R! And by that I mean B&B (beer & Battlefield,) before the boss gets home!
Long story short, my job as an equipment service & repair tech generally keeps me somewhat cooped up in a shop, with intermittent local trips out to customer sites (due to the requirement for the aforementioned equipment to be tested and certified at the location that it will be used.) Today, however, that certification requirement had me head all the way out to the RCAF CLAWR/PLUR site, where one of our customers (a commercial/industrial demolition company) has been contracted by the DOD to knock down a decommissioned radar monitoring structure. I couldn't think of a better place to rant than "Off-topic", I don't think Tapatalk has forum blogging functionality (correct me if I'm wrong,) and this was one long, boring day!!
TBH when you hadn't updated for a while I thought you had over napped and got fired. Was pleasantly surprised and now get some rest. XD
