Leaving Early in Races
So I wanted to bring this up because its an issue I think is important and should be talked about openly. This has to deal with leaving early in races. Overall this has been a common occurrence in our league races. Not going to call out names as that is pointless, this is a general message for all, and to be discussed by all. When people leave early it honestly comes off as disrespectful to the other racers that took the time to show up. There is no reason to leave races early. If you crash and are on the track, hit Esc and retire to pits. If your angry about a crash and don't want to keep going, retire to pits. You can watch other players race, support your team, or go afk and do something else, such as get food/restroom. Just stay in the game and participate in the race. You being there is participating even if your in the pits.
When we start a race with 15 people and it ends with 9 for the finish, it looks bad for all and is unsportsmanlike. If you showed up for the race, you planned on being there for the whole race, stay and support your team and other AOD members who also took the time out to play with us.
As you all already know, if you leave early for race and have a reason post here http://www.clanaod.net/forums/showthread.php?t=107452 . If you don't have a reason you lose all the points for that race and it does not count for you. If we officers see a consistent pattern of this, it could impact a persons chances of ascending in ranks.
Let me know what you all think and feel about this issue.
Good post chimp, I fully support this post and agree in all respects
people who are committed to a event should respect the event
Homie thinks he's faster than me...
If I rage again (in a league race). I will have to sing an embarrasing song in front of the entire ts.
Come to the Dank Side
Can I have your Tots
Great post Chimpy! I fully agree with all of what you say in your post. If we have all made the time/effort to come and race the least everybody can do whatever happens is stay till the end whether you crash out on the first lap or the 10th. In my opinion it just show bad sportsmanship plus a lack of respect for all your other team mates and clan AOD members that made time in their busy schedules to attend.
I get enough exercise just pushing my luck
I support this.
Also the game still has bugs (my reincarnated wheel drops as example)...so if you start/bug and still have connectivity with the room.. Esc and enjoy the show.
Good post Chimp!
Very funny Scotty, now beam down my clothes
I did exactly that chimp, got a coffee and a snack and came back and watched everyone else race & yeah its sucks seeing that player counter keep dropping,
1 minute your 9/12 next your in last place and its 9/9, maybe the ones who have retired can jump in another TS channel that way they can still chat about the race n shit.
oh and it fcks with the replays as well.

I understand your point of view, but I disagree.
We're just here to play games & have fun. In a day to day race, yeah, the races are short enough not to impact any family or daily routine. League races however, they're a lot longer. Housework needs to be done, groceries don't collect themselves, there's a huge list of responsibilities I have & I'm not going to sit & watch everyone race for 20min when stuff needs to get done, period. I already had a huge argument with my wife the night before last & I don't plan on having another one over a fricking game!!!
So no, I disagree. I'm just here to play & have fun guys....not sit around for 30min & get bitched at by my wife.
Very funny Scotty, now beam down my clothes
I understand that Rtm & I get the same from my other half but could you not just leave the game running ?? You are the one asking for videos of us racing but yesterdays left big gaps when you and others left just a thought
I have no idea what i am doing.....
As still a relative newbie to this online organised racing caper, i wasn't aware that if i left the race, it would have impacted the replays to see what happened etc.
I also didn't hear the request to hang around, i only was made aware that there was a request after the race had been done.
If anyone interpreted that as bad sportsmanship etc, i apologise. I did as you outlined above, got up, did something else, came back to my desk and was still listening to everyone's chatter during the race. I still hung around to hear the aftermath, so i hope everyone didn't see that as a rage quit from me etc. I left because i thought thats what you do if you are out of the race.
Having said all of that, and reading thru the points you raised in your first post, i agree with you now that i understand that point of view
See you all on the track
