Need more details lol, does it happen launcing steam itself? A game? Did you do anything recently to your computer? Anti virus?!?!
    1) Turn off or remove anti virus
User 1: Fixed. It was my virus scanner (McAfee). I just disabled real-time scanning temporarily, started BL2. It did the "completing install" and launched just fine. I also tried turning McAfee back on again and it works now that the installer has completed.
COMMON PROBLEM WITH AVG AND MCAFEE.

1.5) Steam in compatability mode / admin mode might do something?

    3) Le reinstall from scratch. Move your steamapps folder so you dont lose your installed games.

    4) No more ideas, complain to steam themselves (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_...9677-EUDC-7384 again)

Have you made any recent changes on your PC (installed anything new for e.g.)?

I'm assuming you've already tried to re-install JKA from Steam? If you haven't, remember to take a copy of your MBII folder.

IRC, this has to do with the latest version of the launcher and steam integration.

If you are launching the game via steam - you may need to change the way in which you do it.

Example: Run MBII.x86, and then open the launcher.

Can you provide some screenshots? Or maybe grab a free software that can record your PC?

I'd say just try to replicate the problem for us all to see? Would help us out big time.

Have you checked the launch options for JKA in Steam?

You could try moving the Jedi Academy directory to a different folder/location and launching it without steam but using the MBII Launcher. thats what i do on mine, havent had an issue.

(my version of jedi academy was downloaded from steam but steam doesnt detect it when i launch it)
