Default Cpu stuck at 800 mhz

I recently built a new gaming computer. It has an intel core I5 4670k, asus maximus 6 impact. corsair dominator 1866 mhz ram, strix gtx 970, corsair 120gb boot drive and 250 samsung ssd storage drive. It has a custom watercool loop all insise the corsair 250d. The problem that I am having is that I can't get my spu clock speed above 800 mhz. I've tried clearing the CMOS, reinstalling windows, uninstalling the graphics card and adjusting the power settings in BIOS and in windows. I can't figure out what is wrong with it. PLEASE HELP.

What is showing 800mhz? CPUz or the BIOS?

Likely with that chip and MB, you need to set your correct profile settings for voltage. Or it is possible that you have Intel speedstep on and it is using lower power when it can. Disable that.

Let me know more, and Im sure I can get it working for you.

I tried turning off intel speedstep and nothing changed. I'm getting about 20 fps in battlefield 4 max. I also tried changing the voltage. I don't know if this is the problem but my min cpu multiplier is 8X, and it just sits at 799.91 mHz without changing under load.

Try making sure you have the most up to date BIOS installed on it, you need to have at least BIOS rev 0804 for the 4670k, but you can just update to rev 1603 here

It is 100% your settings. With the i series on that board, you will need to make sure your settings are correct.
If your multiplier is at 8x, what is your BCLK settings at?
ugh. I wish I was at home so I could look at my bios/uefi settings. Ill check them when I get home.

Can you take a picture and post on here for your settings for that page?

    Two other things:
What speed does your RAM show at, during POST? This can help us tell if other settings are wrong.
What version of Windows? Lets make sure CPU Parking is not on.

Also you can install Asus AI suite (I use it on my older P8P67 board) and you can basically check what everything is running at once you're in Windows. It also allows you to make changes to the CPU settings.

I would try to stay away from any software controlled MB/CPU settings. Did you get a chance to take a picture of your settings in BIOS?

I am 100% sure this is a simple setting we need to change.
