Default "The Will To Win" promo = true summertime madness

This is, IMHO, the silliest promotion I've seen yet. I mean really.......40 victories where you are 1st place on the leader board to get a T3 or T4 plane or tank. Bzzzzz.......this is just insane. Let's see what we can do to destroy teamwork and fair play and reward selfishness and kill stealing. I'm going sit this zoo out or maybe just play T1 and low 2's this week.

It's disappointing to see an event that squading up means at the best a win/lose/lose/lose situation for everyone involved. I guess whoever has their 40 victories is expected to try to kill/bomb just enough less to let someone else get #1, while not less enough to lose the game. We will see how this goes

They could have just said "We wanted to give you guys a chance at getting a bit of free stuff, but we decided otherwise - you're getting nothing this time. That's all folks!"

To paraphrase a saying i heard somewhere recently:
If you want a donkey to walk ahead, you use a carrot on a stick. Only here, Gaijin eats the carrot, breaks the stick in half, shoves one end in the donkey's soft spots and pays some 'Moderators' to hit him with the other end and insult him while they're at it.
A bit drastic, but I think it fits :-/

So don't do it. There's no reason to purposefully burn yourself out. I don't participate in most of these events.

Yeah, I decided not to bother with this one as well.

However this maybe driving the wrong in-game behavior.

Last night while flying T-3 Ki-84 it comes down to two of left on the Japanese side and 3 left on the Russian side. It starts out pretty good as me and the other Ki-84 start flying wing for each other as we try to find the last 3 Russians. I spot a Jak-9 and start pursuing shoot off his wing then turn to see my team mates chasing a Yak-9. I follow my team mate as a wing man then notice the 3rd enemy plane is trying to sneak up on me... I turn hard and get on his tail... as I get within .29 getting ready to fire the last of my cannons on him... my team mate comes from nowhere and clips off my wing sending us both to the deck... we were 1 and 2 on the leader board my guess is he wanted to be #1 because of this event... ugh!

I was just trying to get my 4X and was wondering why a pilot who seemed pretty talented would crash in to me in such a situation.

Oh well, this should be an interesting week! LOL I suspect we will all see some crazy stuff!
Many pilots of the time were the opinion that a fighter pilot in a closed cockpit was an impossible thing, because you should smell the enemy. You could smell them because of the oil they were burning.

Most of you are right .. IT DOES promote individuality over team spirit.

That being said though, I see it as a chance to fine tune my level of "aggressiveness" towards the enemy fighters.

I did complete HUNTER'S LUCK for the German T3 and T4 brackets. Not going to bother with the T2 bracket.

I did also complete "THE WILL TO WIN" for Germans as well. Gave me 3675Ge's (the price of the LA5-FN)
