There was the gun post so I'm making an obligatory bow post. Also, was looking for opinions on takedown recurves vs compound bows..

I've only had one bow in my life, and that was when I was a little kid, so I hardly remember it.
Though, I've always had a fascination with bows. I hope to get a decent one some day. :D
I've done target archery in the past and really enjoyed it. I haven't taken my bow out for a couple years now, but I always tell myself I'm going to get a new target and do some shooting. I'm going to make it a priority this spring.
I used to be an archery instructor at a scout camp up the road. (INB4 LOL BOY SCOUTS U GHEY BREH?) It was fun and got me some spending cash before I could get a real job.
I started doing archery about 3 years ago and iv been using a 45# 72" long bow. I Actually did a competition at the local renaissance fest this year with it. I still want to get a recurve for rapid shooting or maybe even try horse archery but I deffinetly need to get a compound for hunting until I get back in shape and pull a 80# bow to get a clean kill.

Not sure if anyone is still keeping an eye on this thread, but I'd like to ask a question here:
What would be a good bow for a beginner? I would really love to know what I'd be getting into if I go through with this archery thing. God knows I want to.
Thanks. I'll keep that in mind.
