    Default Bomber struggles.

Has anyone noticed that bomber tails are extremely venerable and fall off easily.

Anyone know how to counter-act this besides not getting shot.

bombers in general or more valnerable that ever. theyre pretty much made of paper. as soon as your spotted your most likely dead. be lucky if you survive in the beginning if you spawn as a bomber.

Yeah it is a little too much as it is right now in my humble opinion... Flying bombers you have to eat a lot of shit sandwiches sadly - llike no fighters ever helping you, half or more of the enemy team diving on you, sleeping gunners etc. And most matches are not decided by the bombers anyway (RB)..

Not sure how to avoid it.. Hang back a bit, learn the maps and where you usually can sneak in undetected perhaps?

You definetely need some escort around you that can actually protect you and staying high works aswell. Having a good escort is the most important thing.
I had some games in AB where I was protecting a Wellington with a Spitfire and neither of us died as he was calling out targets and I was fucking with the energy of the enemy fighter so that they wouldnt reach him. We won the match because this Wellington was able to bomb their bases the entire match.

One strategy is to not fly straight into battle, but turn around and climb for a while. After about 10 minutes, you should be at 20k feet. Hopefully by this time the enemy fighters have engaged your team's fighters, and are on the deck.

Then you do a "Half Climb" where you still climbing 2-3 degrees at most, but now you're headed for the bomber targets.

Dannes and others have good ideas! The idea,Chief,is to recognize ur strength's and weaknesses. Ok.So no fighter support in arcade for bombers. That's normal. First off is HOW you equip ur bomber! Gotta get ur gunners maxed out as far as number and skill levels. Their arc of coverage and distance as well as aim improves vastly once over 50% on those particular skilsets. Then it's the ammo.Get the AP-I ammo QUICKLY. Get's inside the aircraft shot at and THEN starts a fire, burns out the wing, etc n so on. Now it's tactics.

Tactics in AB bombing are all about SA or Situational awareness.Try to link up w/another bomber in a 2man formation,at least in transit to the bomb area. This doubles ur guns/coverage and when done right,is lethal. In ANY bomber I do a full 360 immediately on spawning,in a 5Deg climb.Lets the fighters get out front, give You time to climb, and allows the situation to "Develop'. Have a "Target" list ready. Be ready to hit more than one target if bombing. If some1 is climbing to you on the way to a SubBase, find a static target "Non moving' that is above/behind the climber.Turn to it. You'll increase HIS time to climb and give You more time to sort out if You're going to sub base bomb this run. Bombers require tactics and patience. Good luck and See you in da airz!

Kaygen an me did a bit of it all

I was the bomber he was the fighter
at the start we both climbed up as high as possible then went for the enemy bases

I bombed out all bases and he killed like 9 or 10 or 12 enemys who tryed to climb up
almost at the end of the round, enemy fighters just stopped climing up because they couldnt get to us anyway

    we won offcourse

What angles can you climb with various bombers? Or what speed should we have in that climb?
It usually works but I am not sure I am climbing efficient and often when I reach the battle field the mini bases are gone by suicide bombers or most of my team is dead anyways....

And escorts are fine but it really takes skill.. The number of times enemy fighters just keep going for that bomber totally ignoring fighters, just to get the bomber and to hell with what happens then is mind boggling... Usually they put in enough hurt now that the bombers is going down, these days, with fragile bombers..

I am in the category that think you need to get the enemy fighters first and then you can deal with bombers easily anyway. Very rarely can they win the game in that time it takes. I seem to be in a minority in that view, in the teams I end up with though...

Depends on the bomber. American heavy bombers do best around 130-140 MPH IAS. Don't know what the other bombers do, but that's a good starting point. If you're unsure, always err on the side of going faster rather than slower.

Bombers find their feet in realistic and sim battles. This is mainly due to the fact you're not confined to a tiny area and the fact the api rounds are lethal even from British 7.7mm. Cloud cover also becomes a viable assets in the alt game modes.

Might just be you need to move to rb/sim to enjoy bombers. I'd certainly give it a go.

Also people can't just ignore enemy fighters and come after you, if your under fighter cover, as it gets them killed quick. It happens but not as often as you think.
